Victor Osimhen is on the brink of making history at Galatasaray, with the Nigerian striker closing in on the club’s all-time record for most goals in a single season by a foreign player. Currently on a season-long loan from Napoli, the Super Eagles star has taken Turkish football by storm, becoming one of the most prolific players in Galatasaray‘s history. Osimhen’s remarkable performances have made him a fan favourite at Rams Park, and his goals have been crucial in the club’s push for back-to-back Süper Lig titles.
Osimhen’s Prolific Season: A Record-Breaking Campaign
In just 35 appearances across all competitions, Victor Osimhen has amassed 30 goals and seven assists. His prolific form has made him a key figure in Galatasaray‘s title challenge, and with 21 goals in the Süper Lig, he is currently the league’s top scorer. Osimhen has also contributed significantly in other competitions, scoring three goals in the Turkish Cup and netting six times in Europa League matches before Galatasaray‘s exit to AZ Alkmaar.

His consistent scoring places him fourth on Galatasaray’s all-time list of foreign scorers in a single season, according to journalist Buchi Laba. Currently, Victor Osimhen sits just four goals behind the record-holder, Brazilian icon Mario Jardel, who scored 34 goals during the 2000-01 season. Mauro Icardi and Bafétimbi Gomis share second place with 32 goals each.
Should Osimhen score five more goals before the season ends, he will not only surpass Jardel’s record but also become the highest-scoring foreign player in a single campaign in the Süper Lig’s entire history.
