Manchester United’s Amad Diallo is set to miss the rest of the season after reportedly suffering an ankle ligament injury in training, dealing a significant blow to manager Ruben Amorim.
The 22-year-old Ivorian winger has been one of the few bright spots in an otherwise disappointing season for the Red Devils, scoring nine goals and providing seven assists across all competitions. His standout performances included a dramatic last-minute winner against Manchester City and a hat-trick against Southampton.

A Rising Star Sidelined
While the full extent of Diallo’s injury is still being assessed, early indications suggest that he could be out for the remainder of the campaign, according to reports from The Mirror.
This setback comes shortly after Diallo signed a contract extension that ties him to Old Trafford until 2030. Following his renewal, Amorim had placed high expectations on the young star, stating: “Now he has a bigger responsibility because he has a long contract with a big club, so we’re going to be really demanding with him.”

Man United’s Injury Crisis Deepens
Diallo’s absence adds to United’s growing injury list ahead of their crucial match against Tottenham on Sunday.
Key players Lisandro Martinez (knee) and Kobbie Mainoo (muscle injury) are also out, with Toby Collyer and Manuel Ugarte likely to miss the game as well.
In his pre-match press conference, Amorim expressed frustration over the disrupted preparations, stating: “It was a good week until two days ago. We had some problems also. We don’t have players back.”

With United currently sitting in 13th place, Amorim’s squad faces an uphill battle to salvage their season. Losing one of their most in-form players in Diallo only makes the challenge even greater.
The Red Devils’ attack will now heavily rely on Marcus Rashford, Rasmus Højlund, and Alejandro Garnacho as they attempt to turn their fortunes around.
